Russell Flanders

UK graphic designer, working from, Outside The Box Design. Impressive body of work with a range of clients, specialising in Print, Identity & Promotion.

"Raymond Taber Lettings wanted a company logo that could be turned into a strong brand over time. The theme of communication was the common thread for the stationery and brand communication pieces."

Another strong example of a range, starting with a logo which I think is quite interesting, bit different. Bold, stand out type and an interesting use of colour.
It is then this colour that is taken to the stationary, letterheads, business cards, publications etc. Clever thing with the colour is that it can be shown in two ways, shown directly above where on one side of the letter got the full detail of the colour / folded page effect and then on the invoice (I believe) it is changed to a simple split in colour. Yet it is still the exact same thing. The actual choice of the blue is effective and all, calming and very approachable yet makes it stand out from the crowd.

Stereopixel

Visual identity for a Berlin based record label, specialising in electro, techno, house.
Think its Arial black, overall strong logo, mixture of type & image. Icon style.
Win

Shang Records

Logo for a reggae / dancehall label, I dont really like it. Bit cliché, no typography. Not really my bag but A good example of what exists in the real world.

Seed Records

"Seed Recordings is a young, vibrant record label which avoids the mainstream and concentrates on bringing new, urban talent to the people who want to listen.
They specified that their brand has a lively colour palette while maintaining a strong urban feel throughout."

Strong example of a simple range, starting with the logo, taking it to letter-heads, envelopes, business cards, CD 's & packaging and also promotional posters.
Like the brightness and positive vibe of the logo, 3d effect makes it stand out as a logo. However there some negatives to it,
firstly it would take me some time to read this If it didn't have an explanation, bit illegible.
Also the costs would be high as the logo just wouldn't work in black and white.

Strong, bright in your face style. Dice.

Nueva Forma

"Nueva Forma is an audio / visual record label, spanning the genres of dub, idm, break beat, hip hop and ambient music; while lumping it all together and calling it "Acousmatic Pop." "

Visual identity and website for a record label. Think they've created something that fits so well with the subject. Mellow and slightly dark feel, really like the logo aswell.

DJ Steez

Personal identity & branding work for a DJ who mostly plays club, house, electro' music.
Think its also an example of CD artwork, unfortunately the work hasn't been labelled or explained anywhere.
Im a fan of the imagery, reminds me of a favourite designer of mine, Boris Tellegen. Geometric 3d shapes, beautiful.

Sig Viscious

Couldn't find a backstory to this but thought it was a nice example of work concerning music. Specifically the use of logo, how it can fit inside different media & formats.
More images to come but Blogger is being a twat
