BME /// The British Music Experience

This is the logo for the BME, pers
onally I'm in two minds about it, I quite like the round logo (Im not sure of the correct term for it but i will find out), it really works in the sense of capturing the essence of being British, with relevance to the RAF and the colours of the union jack. It also holds a strong music reference as it represents the Mod scene, which first came about in the early 60's i believe. One negative about the image is the two spots of highlight, i feel it may look better and a bit more understated without it. Furthermore depending on what print processes are used the shine could look really bad or just not appear at all. What is good about the logo is that i feel it lends itself to motion graphics, the circular body and layering of it gives a lot of potential to play with. Which is good as motion graphics is something that me and Martyn are planning to produce

Concerning the type, well its ok, i wouldn't say i like the typeface but then again i wouldn't say i didnt like it! This is something that i would like to change however the mandatories of the brief state i cant change it, but i can make something else saying 'British Music Experience'! I couldnt find what the typeface was but found some similar ones. Century Gothic, Comfortaa and Shinn are all fairly similar to it.

(Comfortaa)

Either way i think with any visual that we produce the logo as a whole will be fairly small, as what we are to trying to do is to show the BME as a fun and interactive place to go, the logo i feel doesnt quite show the fun-ness and interactivity of it.
