MTA Records / Chase & Status

Visual identity

As well as their own logo and album artwork, what else do Chase&Status have that represents and essentially promotes them?

Clothing

this is one example of the clothing they offer, this being a t-shirt with the album design and tour dates on. Obviously printing / designing T-Shirts isn't rocket science but i think they could have designed these a little better, not just smacking it bang in the middle. Music and fashion go hand in hand in my opinion and if i am to design my own t-shirts it will take some time in designing and developing them. Something more than just slapping the logo on the front.

Promotion

This is an example of poster that promoted the live tour for Chase, use of the logo, see the back of the t-shirt for the specific tour logo.
A good example of product, range and distribution!
The product being chase & status / their logo, range = clothing & promotional posters, distribution = online store / live gigs / outdoor posters / flyering.

Online / Myspace

This is a double screen shot of their myspace page, use of original / normal (non tour) logo w/ extra designs - the crest style image top left which i haven't seen them use in anything else! Nonetheless i quite like the designs that are there, green & white colour scheme works fairly well, represents them ok but dont think it really gets across the feeling of 'fun' which is something i want to push in my own designs.
Myspace a good way of getting an online presence, another form of distribution, catering for a young audience which is the same as the one im pretty much targeting. MTA do already have a myspace but its rather boring!

Online / Website

What surprised me is that the website is really different to the myspace page, its just as busy but the colour scheme and general info / layout isn't the same. The added designs on the myspace which i think go well with the image for Chase aren't anywhere on here which is a shame. I think one thing i can take from this is to keep it all in the same style, whether i keep a similar layout or keep a consistent colour scheme, to create a strong brand the range of products need to all look as though they are part of a set / family.
